Patient of the Day!

Kolton woke up at 5:30 this morning, wanting a bottle...but, we couldn't feed him. It was so hard, knowing he was hungry and not being able to feed him. We arrived at the Liberty Surgical Center at 6:30 to get him prepped for his surgery. The Dr. and Anesthesiologist met with us and went over the whole procedure. Then the nurse came and got him and Brandon and I went out to the waiting room...the longest 11 minutes I've ever waited! I swear, I watched every minute go by. The Dr. then came out and talked to us while Kolton was recovering and waking up. He told us that he was such a trooper and didn't cry at all. The nurses came and got us and took us back to him and we were able to finally give him a bottle (actually, he took 1 and a half!) If any parent has to take their child to get tubes, we highly recommend this place...Northland Ear, Nose and Throat...with Dr. Beuerlein. He actually made the personal phone call to follow up this afternoon and make sure Kolton was OK. He's super nice and great with kids! Here is a picture of Kolton before surgery. They gave him a teddy bear that he got to take home. The nurses gave him the "Patient of the Day" award because he didn't cry at all...not the norm...most of the kids there were wailing! We're hoping that this ends all the ear infections and he will continue being the ornery, happy boy we all know and love!!

What a trooper, he is so sweet in that picture. I hope he recovered well and he got to enjoy the rest of the day with you guys.

Jen,
I love your blog! Kolton is getting to be such a big boy. Sorry we missed Kolton's 1st Birthday but we do have a card and gift for him. I didn't have to get it sent. Maybe for Christmas. LOL. Lucas is adjusting to his new daycare. There aren't as many kids but he stills seems to keep everyone on their toes. Take care.
