Scissors vs Sucker

After work, I went to pick up Kolton and we headed to Classic Cuts. Amber, the gal who cuts my hair, gave him his very first haircut! Doesn't he look so cute in the apron? It was getting really long behind the ears, and we didn't realize just how bad until we saw his 1 year pictures! He sat in the "big boy" booster seat all by himself...which really suprised me. At first, he just gave me this "eh" look, like...get me outta here!

Then he got to squirming around and leaning as far away from Amber as possible ...but...she made it all better with a sucker!
I really think that he would've let her do anything as long as he got to keep that sucker!! He's only had 2 suckers in his short 12 months, and they have both been within a week of each other!! Gotta keep brushing those 7 teeth! Next trip...to see Dr. Snyder, the dentist!

Patient of the Day!

Kolton woke up at 5:30 this morning, wanting a bottle...but, we couldn't feed him. It was so hard, knowing he was hungry and not being able to feed him. We arrived at the Liberty Surgical Center at 6:30 to get him prepped for his surgery. The Dr. and Anesthesiologist met with us and went over the whole procedure. Then the nurse came and got him and Brandon and I went out to the waiting room...the longest 11 minutes I've ever waited! I swear, I watched every minute go by. The Dr. then came out and talked to us while Kolton was recovering and waking up. He told us that he was such a trooper and didn't cry at all. The nurses came and got us and took us back to him and we were able to finally give him a bottle (actually, he took 1 and a half!) If any parent has to take their child to get tubes, we highly recommend this place...Northland Ear, Nose and Throat...with Dr. Beuerlein. He actually made the personal phone call to follow up this afternoon and make sure Kolton was OK. He's super nice and great with kids! Here is a picture of Kolton before surgery. They gave him a teddy bear that he got to take home. The nurses gave him the "Patient of the Day" award because he didn't cry at all...not the norm...most of the kids there were wailing! We're hoping that this ends all the ear infections and he will continue being the ornery, happy boy we all know and love!!

Gonna Party Like It's My Birthday!

Wow!! Kolton was very overwhelmed with all the people in our house for his birthday party! There was so much going on, he didn't know what to do or where to go first! So may toys, so little time! I want to thank all of you who gave him noisy toys...just remember, Christmas is right around the corner, and we'll get you back!! :-)
The theme was "Farm". I made the cake with a little help from Brandon. I thought we might be calling HyVee to make one for us, but it really wasn't too bad. His cake was a little hay bale, but he didn't tear into it like we all expected. It was even strawberry...yum!
Overall, he made out like a bandit with toys and clothes. Thank you all so much for a fun 1st Birthday Party!

Party at The Learning Tree

We spent the afternoon partying at The Learning Tree. Kolton loves his friends at Daycare (and Mommy and Daddy do too!) , although he seems to have a favorite helper, Miranda. :-) We all had cupcakes for treats today at snack time and sang him Happy Birthday. Kolton was worn out when we got home he took a 1 1/2 hr nap!

Kolton is 1 today!!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!! Kolton woke us up at 6am, ready to party!! It's so hard to wake up when it's still dark outside! He enjoyed his muffin and juice for breakfast and opened his first present from Mommy and Daddy (a pair of Wrangler jeans and cowboy boots!) I think he was more interested in chewing on the tag and tearing the paper! Saturday should be a fun day!!

K-Dub is going to be 1

Kolton is turning 1 tomorrow! Wow...how did that happen?!! I can still remember the day he was born, and how nervous we were going in for the c-section! Looking back at pictures, I guess he was little once! We're going to Miles & Me today for his 1yr pictures. More rain and cold today, so probably no outside ones! I guess it is November! Daddy bought K-Dub his first pair of camo coveralls (size 2T!), but we rolled up the sleeves and pant legs and tried it on him!! I think he's gonna like to hunt...just great!
