Baby Brant is here!
Brandon's bother, Daniel and his wife Jessica, had their baby boy last Monday (wow...a week today!) Brant Adam is what they named him, and he is such a cutie! It's hard to remember the days when Kolton was that small. How time flies! We went for a visit last night, and I couldn't believe how much he's changed already! Maybe we can sneak over for another visit one night this week! Here are some pics from the hospital...Jess was such a trooper...no drugs!! She didn't even look tired!
Mozingo Haunted Campground
What a weekend! It was a nice day on Saturday, but unfortunately a little on the cold side. Luckily, Kolton's costume kept him nice and warm. This year he is a monkey, and it fits him perfectly! He's such a climber, and we always call him Mr. Monkey. It even has a banana in the pocket. For the hauted campground, we all dressed up as charachters from The Wizzard of Oz. Brandon was a scarecrow, and I was Dorothy.

The Muffin
I have told a few of you this story already, but I haven't had time to post it to the blog. One morning I made mini muffins for breakfast, and Kolton would not eat. He just held it in his hand. I let him take it in the car, figuring he would eat it on the way into town, before daycare...but my little man had other things on his mind!! As soon as we got in the car, he was holding it out, saying "I Elly", meaning "I'll give this to Elly"...wow...he's not even 2 yet!!! I just thought it was hilarious b/c he held it all the way into town and even walked into daycare, not dropping it...or eating it!! It is Love!!

Summer Vacation
Corn on the cob!
It's that time of year when we can't wait to sink our teeth into a fresh piece of corn on the cob...Kolton was pretty unsure of his first piece, and wouldn't take a bite until he saw Mommy and Daddy eat it. It's a little tricky for him to eat it b/c he wants to eat it up and down instead of the sideways, like we're supposed to. Also, the butter makes it a little slippery...but it was really fun to watch him eat it!

My Swimmin' Pool!
This is the second summer for this pool, but I'm afraid that he will outgrow it by next summer! He doesn't really sit down and "swim", he just climbs in and out and throws his toys in and out. He does love the water in this pool and his tubbie...however, we went to visit some friends, Coby and Danyell, and they have a big pool. Kolton was not such a big fan of that one! We actually went 2 weeks in a row thinking the second time he would like it better, but no such luck! Hopefully he will like it when we're on vacation...which is only one week and two days away!!!!

We're Still Here...
Sorry for the absence from the blog. Our home PC finally failed us...after 7 years...pretty good to last that long, I guess! Anyway, we are back in the game and I hope we can continue to keep up on it, even though the summer is already going fast! Kolton is LOVING to play outside...he's even had a scraped knee. He can't wait to get home and play with the "bow-wow's". I've kind of given up on the dogs licking him all the time...just have to take a tubby when we get inside! He still likes to play in the dog bowl and water, but we've finally convinced him to feed the puppies instead of eat it himself! He loves riding the 4-wheeler (and lawnmover) with Brandon. He even fell asleep once on it! This year, we have started a garden. Our neighbors are sharing it with us, so hopefully we'll have some luck. It's fun to watch it grow, and Kolton loves to help. Can't wait to show you more pictures of our summer fun...camping, swimming and playing...stay tuned!

Driving Lessons
Kolton has moved on from the little red car to wanting to driveMY car...and of course the TRACTOR!! That is the word that comes out of him mouth at least 20 times a day!! We're still working on the RED tractor part, but he has said "Pa-Pa's Tractor". He is loving being outside these days...I just wish they would stick around!

HATS
Kolton has decided that it's fun to wear hats...even if it is just for a while! Val brought down a few more summer clothes of Coopers and there were some hat's in there. I think Kolton tried evey single one of them on! Then, of course, Daddy had to bring out the big cowboy hat...which probably had 3 years of dust on it!! It's still funny that he is saying "cheese" when we get the camera out! At least he's putting them on...I'd like for him to wear hats this summer to keep the hot sun off his head!

SNOW MUCH FUN!!

We've been wanting to take Kolton sledding every since Santa brought him a sled for Christmas, but every time it has snowed since then, it's been way too cold or he's been sick! So this weekend, we took him out to see what snow was all about! Of course, the puppies had to help us. I think he liked going down the big hill on his sled, but the crash landing left him covered in snow!! Needless to say, our venture out in to the snow only lasted about 10 minutes!! It was funny to see him try to walk in the snow...pretty much like he's stuck in the mud and then falling down, getting covered in snow and all wet!

Little Mr. Chatterbox!
Kolton is now 15 months old, and talking up a storm!! His latest word is "ouch"...which sounds like "uff", but he does it after banging his head against the floor, the table, the window...well, pretty much anything!! He's got a hard head, that's for sure!! We were also shocked to hear him say "cheese" the other night when we were taking his picture (climbing up on the bar stool!) I'm sure it has nothing to do with the photo sessions at the Cooper house every time there's a family dinner!
Other sounds he's making are "moo cow"...which is "boo-ow" and his horsey sound is a giggle (he-he-he) followed by the puff sound...I guess we like to do ALL the sound effects when we do the horse! :-) Our favorite is still "tickle", which he does a really good job at, and of course his peek-a-boo game of "where-go" or (where'd I go). This is a really fun age, where we can really tell he's picking up on EVERYTHING!! He even tunes into his cartoons for longer than a few seconds! Car rides are also more fun, as he's naming off everything he sees...even if we can't understand all the words he's saying yet! So far Kolton knows 4 signs and at least 20 words I can think of right now. Parent's As Teacher's is coming next week, so we'll see if he's on track there or not!!

Splitting Image??
OK, so the verdict is out on who our little man looks like.
Is it Mommy?

Or Daddy?
We're pretty sure it's a combo! He's got way more hair than Mommy did, but not quite the mop that Daddy had! :-) He has Mommy's brown eyes and dimples, but his smile is pretty close to Daddy's.
Can you hear me now...?
I guess the new generation sees us on our cell-phones all the time and wants one of their own. Kolton is always wanting to "play" with our phones! Jeff gave him an old one, but he knows it doesn't turn on! It's so amazing how fast he has learned to use the phone and hold it up to his ear...even if it is upside down! He even says "yell-o!" In one of these pics it even looks like he's texting...wow! It makes me wonder how we ever got along with out them and how we've come from the huge bag phones to the mini computer phones w/ the keypad!
These pics also remind me of the eTrade baby, when he gets a call from his "girlfriend"...check those out on UTUBE if you haven't seen them yet...hilarious!
