Circus Circus

We spent Sunday afternoon at the Molia Shrine Circus in St. Joe. Our friends Coby and Danyell asked us on a "date" w/ their son Landon. They had bears, elephants, horses, and clowns galore! Even a few acrobats and a motorcycle round cage. I think the adults liked the bears the best. They did several tricks, and we were in awe at how they could tame and train those animasl. The boys liked the elephants. Here are a few pictures of the boys with one of the clowns. Kolton loved his red nose, and wore it about the whole rest of the day.

American Idol Take 2

Kolton has started talking so clearly and in more complete sentences now...and singing! It's so funny, we had to get this on camera! It started off w/ the Happy Birthday song, which he's pretty good at...now we've got Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (or "Tar") as he says it...still working on our "S's"...hope you get a kick out of this! The ABC's are next...

Bowling Fun

Some friends of ours, Coby and Danyell called us up and asked us to go bowling with them last Sunday. We had never taken Kolton to anything like that before, so were a little hesitant, but knew it would be an experience...so...off we went to Bearcat Lanes! It was so much fun!! The first time Kolton went up to the lane, Brandon went with him (of course the bumpers were up). He rolled the ball and then...ran after it!! Of course, instinct...Brandon chases after him down the lane...and busts his behind! The lane was slick with the oil they use and he fell flat on his behind! Then the lady up front came marching down and said "under no circumstance should any adult go into the lanes". Apparently, you are suppsed to chase your kid while stepping into the gutter...hmm...so, that was a such an experience!

Potty Training

I almost hesitate to write this one, for fear it will jinx us! We have been working with Kolton since this fall on potty training, and we've been through the potty chair and the pull-ups and nothing seemed to be working. I even tried him in big boy underwear the last few weekends we were at home, and he still seemed to wet himself all day long. Brandon was getting really frustrated, but I tried to stay calm...at least Kolton knew he was wet now...those Pull-ups are a joke! Then, finally on the "snow day" we had a little break through and went all day with only a few accidents!! On Saturday and Sunday he went all day going to the potty and telling us when he had to go!! The trick for us was that he had to sit on the "big potty" backwards. He has never really wanted anything to do with the potty chair, except for the first day we brought it home and he peed 3 times in it! After that..nothing! So...hopefully, we're well on our way! I'm so glad we'll be out of diapers before a baby brother or sister comes along!! I have to post some pictures of my little man in his big boy underwear!!

Snow Day...

Isn't it crazy how our outlook on snow changes after we can drive? Oh, how we used to wish for snow days so we could stay home from school and play in the snow. Now we hope and pray the trucks have been out on the roads so we can make it to work! ...unless we're snowed in! Which actually happened to us last week! There were 3 ft drifts behind my garage, so I wasn't going anywhere! ...and even if I tried, there was a huge drift at the end of our driveway. About 4:30 a pickup w/ blade came down our gravel road, and then around 6, our neighbor came and bladed out the driveway so we could make it to work the next day. Crazy!! It was way to cold to go outside and play in the snow that day, but we did make it out on Sunday. Kolton had a blast, and now wants to wear his snow boots every day!
Oh, and then Daddy decided it would be fun to get the 4-Wheeler out...and got it stuck! Guess who got to help him push it out?! ...Hint...NOT the 2-year old!!

My Daycare Party

Kolton celebrated his 2nd Birthday at The Learning Tree yesterday. They had cookies and Go-gurts...yum!...and they gave him a new book, Skippyjon Jones, a very silly book! Kolton has 3 other boys and 2 girls in his class, but one boy was not here for the picture. I think they are all ornery, but he has so much fun. His teacher is Jo, and they sing lots of songs and read fun books. His favorite thing to do is play outside...typical boy!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Gotta love the little songs...even if he's singing to himself!
